The provision of modern and high quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of the Peloponnese is inextricably linked with the creation of new knowledge through the promotion of basic and applied scientific research. The research activity of the University is based on the high quality of its teaching and research staff, the appropriate laboratory infrastructures and the collaborations that have been developed in national and international level.

The purpose of the Special Research Funds Account (SRA) of the University of Peloponnese is the allocation and management of funds that come from any source and are intended to cover expenses, of any kind, that are necessary for the needs of research, education, educational, development projects, as well as ongoing training projects and projects for the provision of scientific, technological and artistic services, the preparation of special studies, the execution of tests, measurements, laboratory examinations and analyses, the provision of opinions, the drafting of specifications on behalf of third parties, the formation and execution of scientific, research, cultural and development Programs as well as other relevant services with credits from the reserve of the SRA. for the benefit of the institution, following a recommendation of the Research Committee and a decision of the Senate of the University of Peloponnese.
