Σύντομο Βιογραφικό ΣημείωμαΚαθηγητής Χημείας και Βιοχημείας Αγροτικών Προϊόντων στο Τμήμα Επιστήμης και Τεχνολογίας Τροφίμων του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου, έλαβε Πτυχίο στη Χημεία (1986), Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα στη Χημεία (1993), Δίπλωμα Χημικού Μηχανικού (1994) και Μεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα στη Διδακτική των Φυσικών Επιστημών (2008) από το Πανεπιστήμιο Πατρών. Διετέλεσε μεταδιδακτορικός ερευνητής στο Τμήμα Χημικών Μηχανικών του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών και στο ΕΙΧΗΜΥΘ (1994-1999). Εργάστηκε στο ΕΘΙΑΓΕ/Ινστιτούτο Φυτοπροστασίας, όπου ειδικεύτηκε στον προσδιορισμό υπολειμμάτων φυτοφαρμάκων σε γεωργικά προϊόντα. Έλαβε υποτροφίες από το Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών, από το NATO-ASI και από το Instituto di Ricerca e Tecnologia delle Materie Plastiche (Ιταλία). Οι ερευνητικές του δραστηριότητες επικεντρώνονται στη μελέτη των διεπιφανειακών φαινομένων, στη μέτρηση των συντελεστών διάχυσης, προσρόφησης, εκρόφησης και κατανομής, στη μελέτη της αλληλεπίδρασης αερίων και υγρών με στερεές επιφάνειες, στα συνεργιστικά φαινόμενα, στις μετρήσεις των ταχυτήτων εναπόθεσης και των πιθανοτήτων αντίδρασης καθώς και στις μετρήσεις των επιφανειακών ενεργειών στερεών επιφανειών, στη σύνθεση και το χαρακτηρισμό κολλοειδών σωματιδίων και μακρομορίων, στην κινητική μελέτη της αλκοολικής ζύμωσης και στον προσδιορισμό ρυπαντών σε τρόφιμα. Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Agricultural Products in the Food Science and Technology Dept. University of the Peloponnese, obtained his Bachelor in Chemistry (1986), Ph.D. in Chemistry (1993), Diploma in Chemical Engineering (1994) and M.Sc. in Natural Sciences Didactic (2008) from the University of Patras. He was Postdoctoral researcher in the Chemical Engineering Dept., University of Patras and the ICE-HT (1994-1999). He worked in the N.AG.RE.F/Institute of Plant Protection, where he specialized on the determination of pesticides residues in agricultural products. He received scholarships from Greek State Scholarships Foundation for Postgraduate studies, from NATO-ASI and from Instituto di Ricerca e Tecnologia delle Materie Plastiche (Italy). His research activities focus on the study of interfacial phenomena, measurement of diffusion, adsorption, desorption and partition coefficients, study of the interaction of gases and liquids with solid surfaces, synergistic effects, measurements of deposition velocities and reaction probabilities as well as measurements of surface energies of solid surfaces, synthesis and characterization of colloidal particles and macromolecules, kinetic study of alcoholic fermentation and determination of contaminants in foods. He was Rector of TEI of Peloponnese (2017-2019), Member of the Hellenic Accreditation Unit (2014-2017), Member of the Council of TEI of Peloponnese (2012-2014), Vice President of Academic Affairs and Personnel of TEI of Peloponnese (2008-2013) and Head of the Food Technology Department (2004-2009). He is author or co-author of 47 research articles in peer review International Scientific Journals and his work has been cited more than 850 times and his h-index is 16. Also, he has more than 90 participations in national and international conferences. He is also co-author of two books published by the Hellenic Open University. He was participated in 18 national and EU projects (as coordinator or member of the research team). He is acting as supervisor of 3 PhD students, 3 MSc student and till now he supervised 38 MSc thesis and more than 50 under graduated thesis. He is also Tutor of the MSc program in the Hellenic Open University in the T.U. ΄΄Organization and Interactions at the Molecular Level΄΄.
